The alert reader will have noticed, that a week or so ago I promised to put up pictures of my weekend trip to the Hart Mountain National Antelope Refuge.

Here they finally are now - with a slight delay, but nonetheless. I must note that the trip, while from a nature/adventure point-of-view absolutely exhilarating, from a photography point-of-view it was rather dissappointing. The sweeping vistas of the endless flat desert were almost too grand to be satisfyingly captured on film, and the game (antelope, mule deer, and even the sage grouse) were extremely skiddish - due to the fact that hunting season for the antelope had just ended, and for the deer had only just begun [insert rant here about how freaking immoral and wrong it is to allow hunting in a wildlife refuge].

Nonetheless, here are the few shots that did turn out somewhat. If you look real hard, you can even see a couple of antelope in there....[note to self: get a big giant wildlife lense as soon as you win the lottery, or score that next juicy freelance job].
